"Lani Pallister and her mum was truly inspiring.Seeing her passion, talent, and focus reminded me that no goal is too far out of reach if you're willing to work for it.It was such a memorable experience to meet an actual Olympic Gold medalist, and will remain with me forever."

BSB was honoured to host 2024 Olympic Gold Medalist Lani Pallister and her mother,Australian Swim Team Coach Janelle,on campus this past Monday.

It was an exceptionally motivating moment to meet an Olympic Gold medalist in person for many of our students and parents.Key Stage 3 girls were greatly encouraged by the insights of Lani and Janelle at the“Women in Sport”talk. They touched Lani’s Olympic gold medal and even got her autograph!

Primary and Secondary Aquabear swim team had such an amazing experience interacting with Lani in the BSB swimming pool.Swimming athletes from BSB and other international schools were also invited to a talk and Q&A session with Lani at the end of the day.

Thanks TP Swimming Club in assisting with our visit and Mr.Thorp,BSB Head of Aquatics for organising the event. Please see some highlights in the video below.

See some quotes from our students how they've been inspired by Lani and Janelle:

Achievement isn't just something you want,it actually takes a lot of effort on your part.

I felt the excellence and hard work of Lani and realized the results of professional athletes have paid a lot of hard work.Key takeaways included her intense training routine, dedication to the sport, and the importance of hard work and consistency in achieving success in swimming. This was truly a unique and inspiring moment for me.

I had never touched an Olympic medal before so it was very exciting. Also the experience had given me many inspiration,I truly appreciate it.

Never give up and when life throws you lemons make lemonade.I'm truly inspired by Lani for overcoming her challenges to get to where she is right now in life and so honored to have been able to meet her.

Book a visit and learn about all the outstanding experiences we provide to our students–developing their confidence, resilience, and creativity in and out of the classroom to truly make their mark on the world.
