Teachers and students' campus activities are like poems on youth's shores. At BIPH, every young heart yearns for the vast world and spreads its wings to soar high. In the ocean of literature, we engage in dialogue with wise scholars, seeking the essence of life within the lines. On the sports field, sweat is the ink; determination is the pen, and we write chapters of courage, community, and perseverance. May the Sea Dragons face life's challenges with bravery and embrace the world's vastness through every experience they encounter.

于青春之畔，海龙师生的校园生活如诗行般铺展开来。在山海校园这片洋溢着无限可能的天地间，每一颗年轻的心，正怀揣着对广阔世界的向往，展翅高飞。在文学的海洋里，我们与先贤智者对话，于字里行间寻找生命的真谛；在体育的赛场上，我们以汗水为墨，以毅力为笔，书写着勇气、团结与坚持的篇章。愿海龙学子们在一次次历练中，勇敢地面对生活的风雨，拥抱世界的广阔。

In our PK Discovery class, we spent two weeks talking about community helpers. Community helpers are people whose job is to help others. Some of the community helpers we talked about were farmers, police, and doctors. We have also been learning how to ask questions. Our Head of School, Mr. John Quirk, volunteered to come in and be interviewed by our PK students on his role as community helper. We talked about how as head of school he helps teachers think about their work here at school just like our own heads help us think about our schoolwork. He also brought his guitar to share one of his special talents with us, immersing kids in a sea of music and playing and singing melodious tunes. The children were also captivated by the warm atmosphere. Our youngest learners were eager to ask their own questions after the song, practicing their newly learned questioning skills once again. It was a wonderful experience of discovery and growth.

在 PK班的世界探索课上，我们花了两周时间探讨“社区帮手”这一主题。社区帮手，以助人为己任， 我们以农民、警察和医生等职业做了举例。不仅如此，在课上，小小海龙们还学会了如何使用问句提问。校长Mr. John Quirk欣然参与课堂并接受了PK 班学生的采访，以一位社区帮手的身份，与大家分享了他的故事。他谈到，作为校长，他致力于引导老师们思考教学之道，就像我们的大脑一直帮助管理学业一样。令人惊喜的是，校长还带来了他的吉他，与小海龙们一同沉浸在音乐的海洋中，弹唱出动人的旋律。孩子们也深受这热烈气氛的感染，一曲终了，纷纷围拢在校长身边，争先恐后地提出自己的问题，再次实践了他们新学的提问技巧。对于这些小小海龙而言，这是一次完美的探索、成长之旅。

In our recent G9 class, we focused on "The Pavilion of Yueyang" to create an engaging learning experience, taking students through the scenic beauty of Yueyang Pavilion. Students were working with the original text of "The Pavilion of Yueyang," and they explored the vivid imagery of “drizzling rain” and “clear sights of Spring” presented in different paragraphs. Each group used the scenes from the article as inspiration to create their own stories.

9年级的中文课堂，《岳阳楼记》让大家经历了一次“引人入胜”的教学体验。孩子们通过阅读《岳阳楼记》的原文，体会岳阳楼“淫雨霏霏”和“春和景明”的画面感。学生们分为小组，将自己带入文章中的场景，进行了故事再创作。

The process of creating the story involved randomly selecting a prototype from the "Thirty-Six Story Models." Each group shared their ideas based on the selected content and collectively brainstormed to develop a unique story arc. After thoroughly reading and understanding "The Pavilion of Yueyang," they skillfully integrated their storylines into the creation of comic strips.

故事的创作随机抽取“三十六种故事模型”为故事原型，各小组依据抽取内容各抒己见，集思广益，在不断地思维碰创下形成属于孩子们自己的故事主线。在对《岳阳楼记》深入研读理解后，根据故事主线也很好地进行了融合创作，绘制成连环画。

The beautifully illustrated comic strips are filled with twists and turns, reflecting the children's insights and experiences with the timeless masterpiece "The Pavilion of Yueyang." They represent a perfect blend of ancient and modern, showcasing deep engagement with traditional culture through thought and creativity. Through this process, students not only build a solid academic foundation, but also develop their abilities and character through practice. They learn to discover themselves, challenge their limits, and maximize their personal potential.

一幅幅情节跌宕起伏的精美连环画故事，是孩子们对这篇千古佳作的感知体会，是古今融合的完美作品，是深耕传统文化的思考与创意。孩子们不仅能够获得扎实的学术基础，能够在实践中锻炼自己的能力和品格，更是懂得了如何发现自我、挑战自我，实现个人潜能的最大化。

This Friday, under clear skies and a gentle breeze, the BIPH College Admissions Office held another coffee talk, inviting high school parents to participate. During the event, the college counselors engaged in warm and in-depth conversations with the attending parents. Amidst the fragrant aroma of coffee and the welcoming atmosphere, the counselors addressed parents' common concerns regarding college admissions, providing thorough answers to each inquiry. With their expertise and enthusiasm, the counseling team helped parents navigate the college admission process more effectively.

天朗气清，惠风和畅。本周五，BIPH大学升学部再度举办咖啡座谈会，诚挚邀请高中部的家长们到校参与。会上，升学指导老师与到场的家长们进行了温馨而深入的交流。在咖啡的氤氲香气与轻松愉悦的氛围中，升学老师们针对家长们普遍关心的升学问题，逐一进行了解答。升学部老师们用他们的专业与热情，指引家长们更为精准地把握海龙学子的升学方向。

Spooky Games Night, on Wednesday, October 9, was the first event organized by the Tabletop Games Club that year. The Tabletop Games Club is a community of BIPH students who meet twice a week to play English-language imaginative games such as Dungeons and Dragons and Magic: the Gathering. They have created a positive, inclusive space in which all students are welcome and in which imagination and creativity are encouraged.

Recently, the BIPH high school volleyball team embarked on their first match of the PRC Volleyball Exchange Tournament. The BIPH Girls’ HS Volleyball team trained hard for this tournament. The girls have been dedicated in attending an extra training session to work on their volleyball skills and game strategies. The first game was against ISA on Saturday 21 Sept 2024, which was a tough start. The sets were close, and the girls achieved their goal on strong accurate serves. The girls continued to display excellent grit and termination through the second game against BISZ. By the third game the teams demanding work started to pay off. The girls focused on a three-touch return and the 4-2 formation allowing the players to switch setter position in the game without overwhelming complexities.

金秋九月，BIPH高中的排球健儿们迎来了PRC排球交流赛的首场较量。女子排球队的姑娘们，经过长时间的辛苦训练，技能与策略均有显著提升。9月21日，她们迎来了首场比赛，面对实力不俗的ISA学校的对手，虽然开局面临挑战，比分胶着，但她们凭借精准的发球和顽强的拼搏精神，逐渐稳定了局势。紧接着，在对阵BISZ的比赛中，她们更是展现了出色的团队协作和战术运用。到了第三场比赛，球队的努力终于见到成效。女孩们凭借着对三次触球回传的精准把控和4-2阵型的灵活运用，让球员在赛场上得以自如转换传球手位置，战术执行流畅。

On September 21st, the BIPH Boys' High School Volleyball team competed in their first event of the season at BASIS International School Shenzhen. Our team, which consisted of eight dedicated players, showcased their skills and teamwork throughout the event. Under the guidance of the Team Captain, Ivan L., our boys demonstrated remarkable cohesion and mutual support during each match. Despite their best efforts, we did not secure a win this time, the team gained invaluable experience. They learned to accept defeat with grace and to identify positives in challenging situations. This experience has underscored the importance of hard work and dedication for success.

与此同时，BIPH男子高中排球队也远赴深圳贝赛思国际学校参加本赛季的首场比赛。由八名精英队员组成的他们，在队长Ivan L.的带领下，展现出了非凡的凝聚力和团队精神。尽管未能如愿取胜，但他们全力以赴，从失败中汲取了宝贵的经验。

Playing at the Exchange has provided a fantastic opportunity for the players to implement their volleyball skills in a competitive environment. Players encouraged one another, celebrating every point as a collective achievement. This team spirit went beyond the competition, creating positivity of support and encouragement. A special thanks to the coach for their hard work and dedication. Moving forward, our team is dedicated to improving their skills through rigorous practice. We are confident that they will be better prepared for their next game. Let's continue to support our team as they grow and strive for excellence!
