The inaugural BASIS International & Bilingual Schools • China Speech Invitational took place on October 19, 2024, bringing together over 250 students from eight BASIS China campuses. This event provided a platform for students to showcase their skills in six speech events, including Impromptu Speaking, Original Oratory, and Extemporaneous Speaking. BIBS • C set itself apart by also offering Solo and Duo Interpretation and Informative Speaking, giving students the opportunity to engage in special formats and experiences.
2024年10月19日，深圳贝赛思国际学校主办的首届中国·贝赛思国际/双语学校（BIBS · C）演讲邀请赛顺利进行。来自体系内8个校区的250余名学生齐聚蛇口，在即兴演讲、原创演讲和即席演讲等6个项目中充分展示自己的能力与才华。本次比赛项目形式多样，赛制新颖，让参与学生在单人/双人演绎演讲和信息型演讲等项目中收获了独特的语言竞赛体验。
“The inaugural BIBS • C Speech Invitational represents a significant step forward in fostering the art of public speaking within our schools,” said Colin Malinak, BIBS • C Director of Speech & Debate. “We are incredibly proud of all our students for their hard work and dedication, and we look forward to seeing how they will continue to grow as confident speakers and leaders in the future.”

Although BIBS • C has hosted regular Speech & Debate competitions for three years, this was our first event focused solely on Speech. The structure encouraged students to compete in multiple categories and led to our largest number of entries in multiple categories to date. The tournament highlighted the exceptional talent of students across the BASIS China network, reinforcing our commitment to fostering public speaking and performance skills among youth.
中国·贝赛思国际/双语学校已连续三年定期举办演讲与辩论赛事，但本次邀请赛独树一帜，首次以演讲为核心构建赛制，并鼓励学生参加多个项目，成为迄今为止参赛人数最多的一次赛事。本次活动不仅展现了各校区学生卓越的表达能力，学校也收获了更多培养青少年公共演讲技能的宝贵经验。
Students from BASIS Bilingual School Guangming campus were there to observe and soak up the experience. While they didn’t compete this time, they were preparing for future tournaments, emphasizing BIBS • C’s commitment to cultivating the next generation of confident communicators across all campuses.
来自深圳贝赛思外国语学校的学生也到场观摩，汲取赛事经验，为未来的大型比赛做好准备，这也体现了中国贝赛思在各校区培养、提升学生沟通技巧和表达能力的决心。
The invitational celebrated individual talent while also underscoring the importance of teamwork and collaboration among the schools. The impressive turnout and enthusiastic participation showed our collective commitment to excellence in speech and performance, paving the way for future events in this growing field.
