Professional practice of all Alberta (Canadian) teachers is guided by the Teaching Quality Standard (TQS). Meeting this standard is the first step to apply to become an Alberta certified teacher. More than just a certification benchmark, the TQS defines what quality teaching looks like, focusing on three core areas:

Teachers plan each lesson intentionally to ensure maximum learning impact.
Differentiated and Inclusive Teaching
Teaching is adapted to meet diverse student needs and create inclusive classrooms.

Teachers continuously improve to meet Alberta’s high certification standards.

What You Need To teach in Alberta
如何才能在阿尔伯塔执教
To teach in Alberta with an interim professional certificate (IPC), you must have completed:
· 4 years of university education and a recognized degree.
· 48 semester-hour credits in teacher-education coursework (as part of the degree).
· A minimum of 10 weeks of supervised student teaching at an approved institution (as part of the degree).
· A criminal record check with a vulnerable sector search.
要在阿尔伯塔省以“临时教师资格证（Interim Professional Certificate, IPC）”执教，申请人必须满足以下条件：
· 完成四年制大学教育并获得受认可的学位；
· 在学位课程中完成不少于 48 个学分的教师教育课程；
· 在认可的教育机构完成至少 10 周的有指导的教学实习；
· 无犯罪记录证明。
Obtaining a Permanent Professional Certificate (PPC)
通过至少2年教学训练和考核，获取永久教师资格证
To apply for a permanent professional certificate (PPC), you need:
· 2 years of full-time teaching experience (approximately 400 days equivalent) in an Alberta accredited school while holding a valid interim professional certificate.
· 2 successful evaluations of classroom performance based on meeting the requirements in the Teaching Quality Standard.
· Recommendation from the employing school authority.

申请正式教师资格证（Permanent Professional Certificate, PPC），老师需满足以下条件：
· 持有有效的临时教师资格证（IPC）期间，在阿尔伯塔省认证学校中完成两年全职教学工作（约合 400 天）；
· 在教学质量标准（Teaching Quality Standard）框架下，接受并通过两次课堂教学评估；
· 获得任职学校教育主管部门的推荐。
